About The Author
“All the way with B. K. Clay!”
That was the slogan of his 1975 campaign for President of the West Virginia Jaycees and what a campaign it was! He traveled all over the state, giving speeches and exciting young men to action. He became a Jaycee in 1970 and climbed through the ranks to become chapter president and held other state offices. He was awarded the prestigious JCI Senatorship #21141 for his service. In an effort to memorialize that incredible era, he wrote a collection of short stories and combined them into his first book “Corner of Main and Fayette.”
Bob is a native of West Virginia and spent his high school years actively participating in sports as a wrestler and football first stringer. He earned a B.S. degree at WVU Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. from West Virginia College of Graduate Studies. He was named “Outstanding Young Man” in 1984.
He became a career newspaper executive serving as Operations Director at several outstanding publications. He traveled extensively throughout the United States and abroad. An incredible outdoorsman, he honed his fly-fishing skills and became a certified instructor. Upon retiring, he turned to writing.
Bob married his high school sweetheart, Judith. She has stood by his side through every endeavor. He has one child, Dr. Kelly Clay, who is the light of his life.
